Become a trustee
A Way Out is looking for passionate individuals who are interested in becoming trustees. You would be joining a small team of amazing existing Trustees to support our work in the Tees Valley area.
We are currently seeking new Trustees to join our Board and support the next phase of our charity’s development.
At A Way Out, we believe that no one should experience or fear abuse, harm and exploitation (our vision). We work tirelessly to prevent abuse, harm and exploitation by empowering women, families and young people to overcome the challenges they face and tackling the injustice and inequality that they experience (our mission).
This important and worthwhile role would include providing scrutiny and oversight to the Charity’s work, developing and delivering on our mission, vision, values and aims, setting overarching strategy ensuring that the organisation functions within the legal and financial requirements of a registered charity. As a Trustee you will also have the ability to utilise your knowledge and skills to develop and grow the charity via the delegated management of the Chief Executive Officer and the Senior Management Team.
Our services work with women, young people and families at risk of and / or experiencing multiple disadvantages, abuse, harm and exploitation.
We are looking for dedicated, passionate and creative individuals with demonstrable leadership skills. We are particularly interested in individuals with experience in:
-
Health
-
Contracts & Commissioning
-
Faith and community engagement
-
Human Resources
Previous trustee experience is not essential. We welcome applications from individuals who bring relevant professional expertise, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to our values.
If you are interested in contributing your skills and experience in a governance capacity, we would be pleased to hear from you.
