Northeast VCS Award

A Way Out was selected from 130 nominated voluntary organisations across the North East to win the Outstanding Organisation Award at the region’s first award ceremony recognising the work and achievements of individuals and organisations in the Voluntary and Community sector.

Judges commented:  “A Way Out has achieved amazing outcomes for women and young people.  They’ve clearly been very innovative and focused on achieving their goals.”

Jessie Joe Jacobs our Service Director, was also nominated for the Evening Gazette’s Children’s Champion for her work with needy children in Stockton, and along with the rest of the A WAY OUT team is delighted with the win.

“A Way Out has worked very hard over the last six years and has grown from a small community project with a desire to make a difference to a now regionally recognised voluntary organisation,” Jessie told the press.

The awards were presented by Paralympics Champion Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson at the Quayside Exchange in Sunderland.
