We reach out to women and young people in need.

Reaching out to and engaging with hard to reach and vulnerable people has always been at the forefront of A WAY OUT's service delivery.  Using a grass roots approach, the organisation has a strong proven track record in reaching many diverse groups.  Relationships built through outreach are often a foundation for further preventative and transformational work that A WAY OUT delivers.

Our outreach work includes:

Community Outreach

We work within communities to tackle poverty, delivering health advice, support and education within areas of economic deprivation.  Our grass roots approach means we can reach into the heart of communities, engaging with community leaders, young people and families with a targeted approach.

Community outreach work includes:

  • Community health days
  • Community Drop-ins
  • Detached work
  • Community events

Youth Outreach

A WAY OUT has an excellent youth work model.  Working within geographical areas known to be facing socio-economic disadvantage, we deliver services aimed at reaching and building relationships with hard to engage young people.

Youth outreach work includes:

  • DJ workshops
  • Youth drop ins
  • Youth Clubs
  • Detached street work

Family Outreach

Family work is becoming increasingly important in reaching, changing and saving lives.  We recognise the power of family work and have developed a model for family engagement.  Our aim of family outreach is to build relationships with families in need, providing a route for families to access further information, advice, help and support.

Family outreach work includes:

  • Home visiting
  • Family fun days
  • Parents drop-in days
  • Parent focussed information & advice

Women's Outreach

Women's work plays a major part in A WAY OUT's activities. We continue to deliver an outreach service to young women facing the following issues:

  • addiction
  • homeless
  • working in prostitution or
  • mental health problems.

Our outreach workers build relationships with these women, and encourage them to seek a way out of their situations.

Women's outreach work includes:

  • Drop in
  • Advice & sign-posting
  • Sexual health services
  • Personal safety advice
