The Cafe Team - Hand Deliver "Made with Love" Sandwiches, Monday - Friday

We are looking for volunteers to hand deliver our "Made with Love" sandwiches to local businesses in the area. This entails walking a short distance with a basket full of goodies that helps us raise the essential funds we need to continue changing lives for the better.  

The Early Interventions Team - Befrienders & Mentors, One to One, Monday - Friday

We are looking for volunteers to befriend & mentor 11 – 21 year olds who are considered vulnerable or in a high risk situation.  You will meet with a young man, one-to-one, in a variety of settings such as a coffee in town, walk or drive, between Monday to Friday, for one or two hours at a time.   We are looking for men, or fathers in particular, who can come alongside young men who are new to Fatherhood to facilitate, help and encourage.  The following qualities are desirable: patient, non-judgemental, encourager, good at listening, level headed and a positive influence. 

The Crisis & Interventions Team - Community Drop In, Monday

We are looking for volunteers to help pack and hand out food parcels at the Community Drop In with free Food Parcels on Monday between 10.30 am - 12.30 pm (pack time), and 1 pm - 3 pm (hand out time).  You also have the opportunity to give advice and support, with art and craft activities and beauty treatments available for the service users.  

The Recovery Team - 1st Contact and Outreach, Monday - Friday (flexible times)

We are looking for 3 to 4 volunteers to make 1st contact / outreach, going into targeted estates, colleges, hostels and children’s homes, pubs and nightclubs in Stockton during the daytime or night time. Flexible times between 12 am – 12 pm, Monday to Friday, 3 – 4 hours a week, per session. Qualities that are desirable: Good talker, listener with a knowledge of at risk young people.

The Recovery Team - Counsellors and Psychotherapists, Monday to Friday (flexible times)

We are looking for 2 female volunteer counsellors/ psychotherapists, trained to degree level to deliver one-to-one sessions with vulnerable women at The Gate, Monday to Friday, for one hour sessions per service user. 

The Preventions Team - Youth Engagement Workers, Monday to Friday (January 2012 start)

We are looking for 2 enthusiastic and energetic Youth Engagement Workers to engage with young people in sports activities in Stockton for 2 hours each week between 5 - 7 pm, starting in January 2012. The ideal candidate will be able to relate to young people, and be open, outgoing and reliable. 

Gap years & Work Placements

We are currently offering a limited number of professional placements. Placements could be for people wishing to enter into youth or women's work and want to gain a qualification in youth work whilst gaining practical work experience.
