Volunteer

Working for A WAY OUT could be one of the most exciting, rewarding and fulfilling things you ever do, whether that is working at a Senior Management level or volunteering 3 hours a week; you will be involved in working for one of the regions top voluntary organisations, receiving the highest quality training and support whilst making a real difference in peoples lives. 

Due to expanding operations we have a number of new volunteer positions available: (all volunteers are required to work at least 3 hours per week)

Cafe Team - if you have a passion for vulnerable people and can make a cup of cofee or a cheese toastie then this could be the position for you, come and join our new and exciting team, working in "The Cave" an underground, supercool cafe for young people in Stockton.  We are hoping to build a team of young and dynamic individuals who are passionate about making a difference in Stockton to work in the cafe, day or nightime.

Preventions Team - If you are interested in gaining professional experience in health promotion and targeted youth work and are passionate about making a difference in peoples lives then why not apply to become a volunteer preventions worker.  You will be invovled in delivering issue based youth work and workshops to vulnerable young people.

Outreach Team - If you want to be out on the streets, working with the most at risk and vulnerable women and young people in the community then why not join our outreach team.  We run drop ins and go out on the steet, targeting hot spot areas for issues such as prostitution, drug & alcohol use and anti-soical behaviour.

Recovery Team - If you are interested in working one to one with people to make lasting changes around serious issues such as self harming, addictions and social exclusion, then our recovery team is probably for you.  You may be seeking professional experience in the areas of counselling or social work, or you may simply just want to be an ear to listen or a shoulder to cry on. 

Gap years & Work Placements - We are currently offering a limited number of professional placements -Placements could be for people wishing to enter into youth or womens work and want to gain a qualification in youth work whilst gaining practical work experience.  Are you studying for a professional qualification and need a work placement?  O are you looking for an exciting, challenging way to spend a gap year before or after univerity?  These are very popular and we can only offer a limited number of positions a year so apply early!
