Training Packages

We provide tailor-made training packages for all our volunteers and we have also provided training, information and advice sessions for Connexions, Sure Start, local schools, churches, community groups and other voluntary organsiations and our work can be accredited and matched to various DANOS standards.

Volunteering at A Way Out?

If you are a volunteer at A Way Out then you can opt to some of your training sessions accredited, meaning you will gain a certificate just like you would completing a college course. The training is accredited by the Open College Network (OCN), which is a nationally recognised awarding body. There is a cost of £45.00 that covers registration and administration fees that we have to pay OCN. You will need to pay this by cash or cheque at the first training session you attend, as we cannot register people retrospectively.

Attending all the training sessions and choosing the accreditation option means that you would receive an OCN Level 1 in ‘Engaging and Supporting Vulnerable People', ‘Basic Drugs and Alcohol Awareness', ‘Understanding and Supporting People Experiencing Life Controlling Situations' and ‘Essential Skills for Working with Young People.'
